With 3 little ones, it can be difficult to find time to exercise. And when I do it seems that they tend to be underfoot or a brisk walk becomes a sight-seeing stroll. But determination is a strong thing and once I've decided to do something, there isn't much going to stop me!
I don't use exercise equipment (gazelle or stationary bike etc) when the kids are around because I can't be sure one of them won't get hurt. So I save that exercise for late night TV watching - after 8 pm. =) This means the kids are in bed and since I'm going to sit and watch TV for a couple hours I might as well throw in 30 min of exercise.
In the mornings I have a couple workout DVDs that I like and after the first couple days, the kids get bored and instead of trying to workout with me or trying to lay on me (sit-ups are the worst right? It's the perfect time to jump on mom) they wander off to play and I get to sweat!
This DVD is one of my favorites! It is not stupidly hard but also not incredibly easy. It produces a great burn and is very convenient. There are three 10 min segments that you can do separately or altogether. Each one has a cardio workout + lower body sculpting. There is also a separate cool-down segment as well. On my DVD you can personalize your workout by choosing which segments you want to do. For ex. you can choose to do 1,2,3 then cool down OR any other order you prefer. It is great if you only have 10-15 min to workout!
I love Biggest Loser and I especially love BOB!!! =) This DVD is gonna get your heart pumping! First there is a warm-up with Bob and then workout 1 with Bob (20 min) - this goes for week 1&2 on your schedule. Week 3&4 bring in workout 2 (10 min) with Jillian. There is a lot of jumping in her workout. I don't wear shoes when I work out so sometimes this bothers my feet/knees. Week 5&6 has workout 3 (10min) with Kim doing kick boxing.
I really like this DVD but I only do it once I am in shape and trust me even then it is going to make you sore!
Another Biggest Loser WINNER!!! =) This one is great for toning and really works up a sweat as well. I like to do this one in addition to one of the cardio workouts.
Lastly I have an old-school VHS from Billy Banks. This is a short 20 min Tae-Bo workout that is fun. I like to think of it as learning self-defense. Lots of kicks and punches and lots of burn!
I'd love to hear about your favorite ways to workout! I am also looking for more kick-boxing so share away!
Keep loving the Burn!
